you ask the average person how many t-pains songs they can name in 2007 they're naming 4 songs total lol, maybe 5
I had those 2 albums, no one knew the deep cuts on there
Kanye to me. Produced for a wider range of artists and genres. Also, a songwriter, beatmaker, video director, which helps in terms of creating a whole project, aesthetic, and product.
Both HIGH level a&r / team leaders too. The artists they were able to find / develop are crazy.
John Legend
Big Sean
2Pac
NWA
Kid Cudi
Kendrick Lamar
Eminem

Ye all day imo
that being said there would be no Ye without Dre
Bro tryna make it seem like T pain was a megastar in rap. He had a few hits and a nice feature run but nobody was an actual fan of him or his music like that. They knew a handful of songs and some features and that was the extent of it
wait op said kanye put on t-pain??
Kanye is a better producer then Dre overall, although Dre in the 90s and 2000s was incredible.

pain unfairly got ragged on
true innovator and melodic genius
The more I think about it, Dre wins tbh just too influential/important to the genre

Drive slow is 100% Kanye.
On Power:
No ID Produced the drums, Mike Dean the guitar & other strings. Kanye most likely chose the sample. 10/10 beat & song tho.
this honestly a hard question s*** I think I’ll go with Kanye but Dre is still incredible

Epiphany was as big in hip-hop/RnB as Graduation.
Yes Kanye has crossover appeal and that translates towards sales but T-Pain was one of the best during his run.
