My state has been doing good as far as Vax levels and our 7 day average is under 100 cases, but if still wearing a mask stops this variant then I'll keep it on

Yeah I get that, but I honestly feel like that was the most abhorrent way to go about it. I think he should've said openly and honestly that masks are shown to be effective in preventing the spread/catching of the virus (because they are), but that the supply of masks is low and it's critically important that the masks currently available go to frontline workers while the supply is increased. And that in the meantime we can do actions 1, 2, and/or 3 to increase our level of safety. Had he said this, and people decided to be selfish and hoard masks anyway, that's on American selfishness, not him.

Instead this man who was propped up as the expert the entire country should listen to told the country that masks weren't necessary or effective in the earliest days of the virus being known to be in the country. While KNOWING the opposite to be true. That man decided to play God with people's lives and the virus went rampant in the country as a result. And then when his and other "expert's" tunes changed, people were way more hesitant to use one than they would've been otherwise.

I wrapped a play 3 days before the first shutdown, was delivering people's groceries and food through doordash and Instacart, and have since gotten work as a bartender. And my immediate circle of family consists of a nurse, 2 warehouse workers and a mechanic + uhaul worker. My mom caught the virus EARLY on, and it's highkey a f***ing miracle that we're all good today.

And then recently that man lied to the public about the Gain of Function s***, while being the decider or primary decider on which labs get funding. And if we don't believe Fauci, we apparently "hate science" or whatever that b**** said. F*** Fauci. On God, I'd spit on that b****.
