eminem man it isnt even close and there’s no point in this discussion if you aren’t excluding him

like if the discussion is about the second biggest peak it’s probably 50 and then Wayne; drake probably next

50's peak was bigger but shorter than Drake's.

Also let's not forget that Jimmy Iovine started to blackball 50 at one point and that made 50 stop caring about music.

Em’s run literally had thousand of people protesting him outside of shady records office building

Also how big does 50 become without the em co-sign

Same for drake without the wayne co-sign

Both 50 and drake had objectively the biggest rapper of their era co-signing them with unlimited support and features and access to mainstream connections

  • Does Drake have a song bigger than In Da Club?

50 peak was higher than any particular point in Drake career but Drake has sustained a level very close to 50s peak for over a decade so yeah

Not only that, but Drake is way more marketable than 50 or Eminem were. Drake can easily cross into general households because his appearance and music (without digging into lyrics like most of the GP dont) come off relatively harmless in comparison. 50 as well as many others that have been named paved the way for Drake to become the star he is today

Lol dre was not objectively the biggest rapper in 1998 when cosigned em, dre was literally forgotten about as a rapper by 98 hence the literal song “forgot about dre” on 2001 album

SSLP came out feb 1999 and gave a rebirth to dr dres name which he then used to drop 2001 in nov 1999

Whereas wayne and em were both in their literal prime when they cosgined 50 and drake

  • Jul 11, 2023

Basically the way I look at it

Whose career had the higher peak - 50

Whose career would I rather have holistically - Drake

    Love Life Utopia

    Birdman co-signed Wayne

Birdman co-sign at that time was not the same as Dre in the 90s, Em in early 2000s or Wayne late 2000s

If u think that Dre in 98 was objectively as big as em in 2003 and wayne in 2009 ur smoking d***s

Dre in the early 90’s sure

50 although obviously Drake has a longer longevity

50 was EVERYWHERE you can make the case that he has the biggest peak that a rapper has ever seen

The dr dre cosign definitely helped em a lot just as much as the em co sign helped 50 I'll go as far as saying if it wasn’t for dre and interscope em would still be underground or would’ve been a 1x platinum rapper

Dre wasn't as big as em in 03 but his cosign definitely made em a star

  • Jul 11, 2023

Em with the highest peak but Drake with the greatest area under the popularity curve (slightly smaller peak but maintained peak for longer)

Spoken facts 50 popularity is just unparalleled closest drake has come to it was during the meek beef and views era even then doesn’t hold a candle to 50s peak grodt was literally like the bible for some niggas

  • At their very peak easily 50 cent but it’s also apples and oranges because I think if you put 50 in the streaming era and Drake in the non streaming era….things might be a little more clearer for either artist

  • Jul 11, 2023

    50

  • Jul 11, 2023

Eminem is one of the most global artists ever. Not even just rapper. Artist period.

  • Jul 11, 2023

KTT hates Em so he's rarely brought up but objectively its him or 50

    Hi Roller

50 cent was so popular in europe that i thought he’d outsell kanye in their fake beef

Its still debatable as to if he did imo
