YB is a lot more singular of an artist, stylistically. They’re not THAT far off in their appeal, but I think what durk brings are his lyrics that feel authentic and his ability to deliver consistently good projects over and over, year on year. Consistent rappers are hard to come by and he’s pretty consistent, I think that’s why he sticks out a bit amongst drill and trap artists (his music sounds more Atlanta than Chicago these days honestly), but not to the extent a future or young thug does.
You had to be there
@Mitchell
Yb better
for me it's youngboy just cos when durk (for me) started slipping a bit youngboy appeared and mixed durk + louisiana for the best results
Durk music is almost sterile compared to YB. YB music is just more raw, more soulful, more flows, etc. His heartbreak music is better too also more mature subject matter despite being almost 10 years younger
