Thanks for involving me
I thought you were gonna steer clear, but deep down i knew the temptation was too strong for you to resist
Mj did not have a cultural impact as big as Dylan and if you say otherwise you don’t know what you’re talking about.
there’s some people in this thread who don’t even know who Bob Dylan is. you smoking that third degree crack
pretty much 70 % of famous 60s rock artists
Even the ones that didn't like him shaped their art in a way that he can still be felt like light that was trying to escape a black hole
I thought you were gonna steer clear, but deep down i knew the temptation was too strong for you to resist

Lol. Everybody and their mother in this site knew who Bob Dylan was when post malone said he listened to him when he wanted to feel emotion.
And if you don’t know Bob Dylan you don’t know much about music, which isn’t a bad thing ,but it is when you start saying bullshit.

Okay but are we in the 60s or the 2020s
if we're going to put a black artist up against dylan let's at least start with Chuck Berry not Michael Jackson who wasn't really even a musician
shut up dumbass
Get off his d*** because Id f*** you up fasho, you would never wanna see me one on one so stay in that lane

Do you understand how influence works

Not a lot of people know who Brian Eno is. He's still one of the most influential artists oat. Name recognition is a terrible measurement of influence.
Do you understand how influence works
Yes but I’m not calling the first musicians ever the most influential just because everyone copied what they did, there’s a difference between direct and indirect influence
MJ had direct influence on artists from the 80s, 90s, 00s, 10s, and 20s. Not generational-passed down influence, direct from the actual source influence.
elaborate?
Dylan popularized the protest song
Dylan laid important foundations for Psychedelic Rock (surreal, absurd lyricism, droney/floating hypnotic song structures)
Dylan is basically the OG modern singer songwriter
Him returning to his folk roots/ following a country-rock style pretty much changed the entire musical landscape back then
I wanted to do some research before giving my answer to the thread, so I consulted Quora. That was a bad decision.
