if im not wrong i think it was rakim that changed the game and forced everyone to step up

Even then man, 90s raps was the same ass flows constantly. Now it’s expected to change your flow every 4 bars, actually have melodies to your raps, not just say pseudo smart s***, etc

Just flipping some of those old hits seems more likely. Like this would still go off

    monaleo x queen latifah
    little simz x slick rick
    pusha t x kool keith

simz would have fit beautifully on that slick rick ep from last year

Typical 2020s "rap" fan comment. "Change flows" "melodies in your raps" mfs want to hear crooning, not rap a few steps away from the good ole "bumps in the whip" cliche, keep going

cause niggas don’t want to have an honest conversation as to why we’re still glazing 40-60 year old rappers when those rappers weren’t doing the same at our ages. 2010s era rappers done more than enough featuring 90s/2000s artists on they come up and now look where we’re at…them 90s/2000s artists still think they 25 and the genre not growing

no one wants to have an honest conversation period.
