    I think it's because if you're a normal individual.

it's harder to create something new unless your'e just skilled in the art of creating popular things.

but to standout and truly standout.
you gotta be a different breed.

When you spend so much time trying to design and create things that don’t exist, it’s bound to have a effect on you, then if you get big in that field the pressure to come up with new and fresh things is immense.

That plus art usually comes from personal experiences, and sadness and sorrow are much stronger feelings than happiness.

    All of them aren’t tho
It’s a bad generalization and can have a negative impact on creatives thinking they have to do something in order for them to be creative when it’s not true

And can also prevent people who are interested in expressing their creativity more from actually doing it, because they feel they havent gone through anything drastic or f***ed up so they have nothing to go off of

i don't think that's an excuse. and if it is, that's pretty weak of whoever to feel that way. the only time i can see people excluding others from creating art is when the creator is untruthful about their experiences. like how rappers hop on the depression bandwagon when they probably are not depressed and are just sad sometimes. No ones telling people not to make art because you haven't gone anything.

No it’s just romanticization of what creativity should be.

I remember Prince saying something like how once he became an artist he was able to understand why his father, who was a musician, was so hard to live with.

Creatives definitely tend to be self-centered and egomaniacs. We have all these ideas in our head and sometimes that causes us to be selfish with our time, thoughts, and energy.

A creative could be in the middle of developing an idea in their mind and when someone tries to ask them a simple question or just initiate a simple conversation they can come off as uninterested or unresponsive because they are so into their own thoughts. Its as if every thing else seems unimportant or is a nuisance. Which is not a healthy way to live. Gets in the way of having healthy relationships.

Thats why alot of creatives be loners too. Really gotta be careful with that. Over the past few years I've really tried working on not treating my thoughts/ideas like they're the only thing that matters.

What makes us/them go into creative things? Not everyone in the creative field is messed up but its usually those people that are in that field. Its like you have to be screwed up to think differently. Why is that

it's an outlet for me. I can't always articulate how to verbally express myself so music helps with that...

Because this world isn’t built for us.

Most humans instinctively latch on to what they know and what is already established to continue and further the norm and the world typically rewards that kind of behavior.

Creatives by definition create new s***. Creating s*** that didn’t exist before and put it out into the world. It’s outside the regular everyday s*** that people aren’t used to, so it’s not always celebrated.

It’s two very different ways of going about life and there are far less creatives out there so we are the outliers and the loners. Minorities of the mind.
