Feel like everyday recently when i get on social media i see people on my timeline wanting to abolish hospitals

I do agree that it’s a flawed system but getting the older crowd to abolish hospitals would be tough. I’m seeing a lot of talk about mom and pop clinics and freelance medical care/surgeries etc

Cutting the middle man out of health care could be revolutionary for america. People dont seem to want the government regulating, mandating and controlling their health

What do KTT2 ppl think? Hospitals: Yes or No? Is reform needed?

I see where they’re coming from tbh

By abolishing hospitals we cut out the middle man between us and good health

the people can become the new distributors of treatment and health

Is this because of the diagnostic inconsistencies on POC patients? I used to see comments about medicine being racist

    Abolish hospitals?

How about let's change our healthcare system so it actually works for everyone no matter how much money you have? What kind of small brained people could think the solution is to get rid of hospitals? lmao

Im not sure the original basis of it but ive heard that too

I think it moreso has to do with taking back power of our health and not relying on the government for it

We can self teach surgeons and doctors and remove the government’s control on our health

People are most likely talking about abolishing the system that hospitals abuse to make money, ie, charging thousands of dollars for medicine and basic care because it gets charged to the insurance company and not the individual. Which is inherently classist because if you can't afford insurance then you are left with tens of thousands of dollars of debt, or don't receive care because you know you can't afford it.

I highly doubt there are that many people out there saying that hospitals themselves should no longer exist.

It's the same thing as saying "abolish the police". Sure there are some anarchists and libertarians out there who think there shouldn't be a police force, but 99% of people who say "abolish the police" are talking about abolishing a system which gives the police too much power and freedom to harass and kill innocent people.

if u wanna look at it that way thats one possibility

but mom and pop “clinics” is the ideal i think and the ability for the average person to perform a surgery if they want

everything that cost money is classist then.
