I think sensitive people are just honest tbh like people with thick skin are just as sensitive but learned to get over it/adapted. Sensitivity is nice imo I like someone with boundaries. Feels piggish to meet someone and have to get down with the illness off rip….

But yea there are extremes to that. There is oversensitivity. Some people do have to toughen up a little… but only a little, in the sense that they shouldn’t complain about literally everything and deal with it rather than run to tiktok for affirmation. That guy that went nuts cuz Biden dropped out. Like what? Lmao tf did Biden do for you?

the whole world working together to keep ppl feeling like they lack smth since birth. identity politics being leveraged to keep ppl outraged at their fellow workers instead of pissed at the ruling class who stay funneling money from the bottom up. advertisers stay with the pedal to the metal making ppl so wrapped up in a fragile artifice of self bcoz they make bank off insecurity. someone who happy with their self is not good for business and not good for the politicians, and you put those two groups together and you got the rulers

today it is subversive to be content with a simple life. to be at peace with your self, happy, unbothered, and treating those around you with a gentle love and understanding. it is seen as a threat by every industry on the planet

The philosopher Diogenes was eating bread and lentils for supper. He was seen by the philosopher Aristippus, who lived comfortably by flattering the king. Said Aristippus, 'If you would learn to be subservient to the king you would not have to live on lentils.'Said Diogenes, 'Learn to live on lentils and you will not have to be subservient to the king'

    Excellent post and excellent quote

I think the problems linger when we give too much attention to these people. We give them a platform. We give them attention.

There was talk about banning hate speech on Twitter. I disagree with this. I actually want to see what people are saying so that I can know what I'm dealing with in the real world.

Let them say what they wanna say. Let them talk to themselves.

We're not gonna change their minds by going on a rant against them.

Let them swirl and be fools amongst themselves.

I agree until things reach the point of 4channery and targeted harassment, then i start to believe some people honestly shouldn’t have access to electricity

Obviously, hate speech regarding race, sexual orientation, religion, etc. is never acceptable.

But if someone says or posts something offensive, I really don't care. Ok - that's how you feel. Good to know. I'm gonna move in the opposite direction.

I don't get overly emotional or feel the need to write an essay long response.

Not sure why people get so rattled.

Just keep it moving and don't give them any attention.

    Hurt ppl hurt ppl

The internet is designed to make you reactive and not proactive

There’s nothing wrong with writing long responses if writing is your way of expression

Some posters just take this s*** too seriously especially the new generation

    Idgaf tho.

if you think racism is a conspiracy by "the ruling class" to make "white workers" racist against black ones, youre not being serious.

white people actually did benefit from racism. they got free land and free labor out of slavery and the theft of native land and continue to reap the benefits of that system today in the form of segregated communities, "good schools", and welfare schemas which benefit white people disproportionately. american apartheid is not some illusion.

i dont think any of that. nowhere did I mention race at all but I can see why you might extrapolate what I did say in that way. if you're open to talking about this in good faith i'd be happy to elaborate because everything you said here is factual but it comes across as you deciding that I'm a racist before you even engage with me. seems like you got beef with me and we can try and squash that if youd like

no beef, I just don't agree with the fundamental idea of "identity politics" "dividing" people or being a conspiracy of the ruling class. this doesn't jive with reality. I bring up race because white identity politics is the most hegemonic form of "identity politics" that exists and you know this.

racism been around since the dawn of time and while it's always just been there to varying degrees it's also been used to leverage support both political and financial. I'm not saying that the only reason there's racism is because it's been created by oligarchs and media moguls and billionaires but it's certainly only being exacerbated by those people.

the poor white man has more in common with the poor black man than he does the rich white man but that shared commonality has only ever been suppressed by those with the power to do so.

that's my take anyway, I ain't saying it's the objective Truth but it seems to be a large part of the reality of our f***ed up situation

racism has not been around since the dawn of time and their is a scientific and historical explanation for why seemingly "poor whites" partake in the oppression of the black, native, and chicano nations.

hmm, I've been assuming that historically slavery was always connected/driven by racism, and since we have prehistoric records of slavery that's where my "dawn of time" comment came from. one always have more to learn, however. thanks for taking the time and sharing that link with me
