Beware when a right-winger is whining about others’ sensitivities. Often the problem is that their jokes are not funny.

If something is funny, you can’t help but laugh. If people aren’t laughing, sorry, it wasn’t funny. Simple.

You are right though with centrism. I think to be funny you have to be able to mix that blend of being shocking (essentially poking holes at liberal viewpoints) but still retain a sense of punching upwards (which is something conservatives rarely wish to do)

It’s funny because I found the two most recent “right” stand ups to be Ricky Gervais at the Globes and that Chappelle standup where he just went off on the LGBTQ and pro abortion people and the Chinese and all that.

Obv they’re far from right wing comedians but I saw a ton of right wing people back those specials extremely hard while liberals were moreso angry with them

it can be a bad thing. being offended is subjective, what one person in a given group finds offensive might not be offensive to another person in that same group

so a subset of people within a group can then essentially dictate what the group as a whole should be offended about, which is restrictive, dominating, and a blatant misrepresentation, because the offended is usually a small subset compared to the larger population within the group

now if the group as a whole or a majority of the group finds something offensive, then it’s offensive, but if only a small # of people within a group find something offensive, it’s usually not, and they just want to be mad about something

• note: i tried to dictate that as clear as possible but to reiterate: i am talking at all people within a same group, i am not talking about people from a different group being able to dictate what another group is offended about. only people within the same group

ehhh idk a lot of some of the best comics (Bill Burr, Louis, even Chapelle) have gotten a lot of heat from liberals in recent years who have called their work insensitive and say they have more conservative views.
