If we don't take into consideration which musician/entertainer sung it, I would say overall it was not bad, but not good. If we take into consideration that it was a Weeknd album, then I say it was bad. Cause Abel is capable for much more, but he devolved with Starboy LP, and with more than 80% of his post Kiss Land songs. It had a couple of good tracks, but if he focused on making a pop album, scratch BBTM and Starboy but keep songs like "Starboy", "CFMF", "A Lonely Night", and didn't lower the bar, and make a 40min record, he truly would have had a modern smashing pop album. But no, he had sales in mind, made a catchy track or two, and rushed to make an album.

If you like it op, good, but don't use "we" when talking about music. And unless you're in his close circle, don't worry about the public opinion/streams a certain album of his gets. Worry about something more meaningful that will make your life better.

Nah, I love MJ's "Thriller", which might be the epitome of a pop album. The day when Abel makes a proper, replay-worthy pop album hasn't come yet.
