    why do we care

good music is good music regardless of whos making it its rlly not that deep

Because of this thing called diversity.

It’d be nice to see other people have the chance or be in the spotlight. It’s ignored how hard it is for a lot of females to even be taken seriously on production with hip hop.

Real. I wish trap music went where wondagurl was taking it smh

She needs to work with more artists outside of just Travis. But apparently she was being held back by her manager early on in her career.

It’s crazy how so many producers look at her as the gold standard for bounce and drums n s***

Charlotte Day Wilson, Sevdaliza, Santigold, Grimes, Shura. There are many that don’t coincide with conventional hip-hop production, but self produce their albums. Womyn with multi instrumental talents exist, being willfully ignorant exists as well.

These are great examples, and there’s many more, but don’t really fall at all under hip hop. There’s all of these multi instrumentalists and so much talent out, yet it’s rarely seen for women right under hip hop, even tho women clearly like the genre and music.

The fact that there’s so many examples out there but so little specifically for hip hop says something imo.

This a really close minded response like what if I asked what’s the point of shoving black kids in to white schools in the 60s

It’s nice to see everyone play on equal platforms and have similar opportunities. That’s how it works in all areas of life

I know but spread across the 7 years she’s been in the game, paired with what she brings to the table as a producer her catalogue is way too short. She’s developing artists right now though so it seems like she’s just more focused on preserving her sound, which is smart too I guess

Maybe they're not interested in general? There are some but not a lot just like there are some men nurses but not a lot. There are a lot of female DJs deaux

Hip hop is a man’s sport.
RnB and everything else you’ll find it.
The one crossover genre you’ll see is neo soul. Since that’s dead than the game is gone.

Usually female producers aren’t just producers and are proper vocalists who produce their own music. Strictly producing is a men’s game for some reason

again bruh, you missing the point. we can provide exceptions, but look at the industry as a whole...

also, how many of your female friends produce beats? no how many of your male friends do it??
