Why did Arena FPS die? (Quake, Unreal, DOOM)

    Fortnite literally killed Unreal Tournament. Epic cancelled the development of the newest UT because of how successful Fortnite was. Sad. They had an alpha version out for free that had potential but it got cancelled in 2018.

    Haven’t released an UT since 2007. Such a historic and influential franchise and it’s just over.

    Definitely saddened by this too. Would pop in periodically to play the free UT, checking for updates and what not. Then that news hit... haven't touched Fortnite and don't plan on it tbh

    the general audience didn't want them anymore & fps games evolved

    even the two or so that were released this gen, barely anyone supported them. even pc audience.

    most people don't like how chaotic, how little customization/ranking & "not believable" they are.
