But its dope that he kept going till he got another one.
I've enjoyed his last 2 albums more then anything hes done since Rich Forever.
I'm really surprised that you don't love GFID. That's Top 3 Ross for me. Tbh, Rozay's discography is stacked. Port of Miami 2 was a good album but somewhat of a letdown. I really didn't care for songs like Born to Kill, I Still Pray and Running the Streets.
It was commercially successful and well liked by hip hop fans, it didnt flop. Ross was hot til Hood Billionaire

What was the hit on Mastermind?

Hood Billionaire was a flop in every sense.

You're approaching this all wrong bro
Ross isn't known for hits. He's respected for his bodies of work.
What was the hit on Mastermind?
probably devil is a lie
but you act like we werent there lol we all knew ross still had momentum when mastermind dropped
Just like Curtis still did good numbers.
But it was a flop too.
this is a false equivalence !
Curtis was a flop bc the album before did 6x platinum and Curtis did 1x and lost the sales race, which is a significant fall off
Ross' last album went gold and he followed up with another one
Devil is a lie
FWMYKIGI was originally supposed to be the lead single of the album. That was given (or maybe taken?) to Jay. At least it's on the superior deluxe version.
Like we know what we lived when GFID and Mastermind were out lol. Ross was prominent at that point.
why was it expected to do more than regular rick ross albums?
maybe bc he was coming off teflon don, but if that album only got gold idk why you'd expect his next album to do more
cos many people in the industry hyped him up to be the next big guy after teflon don but he didnt rly come through

So what's the classic song that you add to Ross' catalog?
What are the songs that must make your top 25 Ross songs?
Cause there are none I would take from.those 3 albums.
It didn’t rlly flop it’s still one of his highest selling
But 3 Kings sucked and it has too much filler but it also dropped several classic songs. It was kind of like an over inflated Teflon Don follow up. TD was great cuz it was lean and mean

Ross always hyped his s*** up too.
B**** he's a monster no good blood sucker
Fat motherfucker now look who's in trouble
As you run through his jungles all you hear is rumbles
Kanye West samples here's one for example
Rich Forever is ridiculously overrated. I remember seeing so much hype that mixtape and people going as far as to rank it alongside some of the best albums of that year. It's a solid trap project but GFID is a motion picture, a true cinematic experience. It's just an overall better project.
Lmao you never listened to Teflon Don before GFID
Rich Forever is his best work objectively
King of Diamonds >>>
Off the Boat >>>
I’m actually gonna smoke up in the Beamer and drive around to it RN

The best song on it came out on a mixtape 2 months prior.
SN: Teflon Don is kinda overrated. It's still great tho. It's like Daytona.
how did it flop
It under performed.
I pinpoint it as the moment Ross' career stalled.
The first single with Usher was trash
Idk if he became formulaic, idk what it was?
Hence this post

Nah it’s his classic album, BMF is still an insane track. Only gets kinda weak for the Diddy and NeYo tracks and they aren’t bad.
But Rich Forever is like all the awesome stuff about BMF for a full mixtape over some SERIOUS production high definition is just

If anything Hood Billionaire was where his career began to decline a bit
There was a ton of hype for Mastermind when it dropped from what I recall
