his voice changed and he started to come off corny

  • Feb 10, 2020

that skater voice accent he started doing around 09 was so f***ing ass to me I almost stopped being a fan

He hasn't been the same since Rikers.

This s*** so surreal because it’s like u watched an artist get his magic taken in real time

07, 08, 09 Wayne were all different animals of the same beast lol word to Kobe

    Da Drought 3 > C3/Dedication 3 > verses like MM3/Swagga Like Us, No Ceilings

That’s three different Wayne’s in 3 years lol. 09 I feel like was his best mix of getting intricate but still sounding like prime Wayne.

When he came home no matter how rappity he gets, his voice and autotune or whatever is different. And he had a couple wack verses at the beginning of the decade lol.

Like his rapping is more trappy and syncopated now vs. the 2000’s when he was just GOING

His music wasn’t the same after prison.

  • Feb 10, 2020

A lighter skinned more coherent version of him came into the picture

  • Feb 10, 2020

Tha Drake co-sign kinda cannibalized his popularity once he fell off and Drizzy got poppin

    Pups

He went to jail man and the fans moved on

did you just start listening to rap in 2015?

  • Feb 11, 2020

Prison is usually the worst thing to happen to rappers, they go in and come out never ever sounding the same, but Wayne was still dominant after this.

Wayne's dominance came to a screeching halt from a combination of effortless albums and birdman not letting him release anything. He was gone from the mainstream for a while.

There’s so much delusion in this thread. He just doesn’t make good enough music. That’s it.

He’s had more than a couple of those since fat Albert with the gritty crackling voice and fire bars.

  • y’all really stupid on here. wayne went to jail and let drake and nicki do their thing. you don’t leave society for 8 months and come back like nothing happened....

but he did and had c4 sell basically a milli too
