Timbaland’s 2005-2007 run was absolutely wild.
I think the answer, on top of what others have already said, is that FSLS felt even more like a different genre than loose did. At least as far as the singles of Loose go. FSLS had this weird futuristic funk sound. Loose had incredible production but it sounded like the next sound in pop, while FSLS just sounded like it came from another dimension where funk never died and just kept evolving

The album predates Timberlakes by a few months, had extremely forward thinking genre breaking productions by Danja & Timbaland, was revolutionary and arguably one of the best pop albums of the entire 2000s. The music was stripped down yet hard hitting with a raw type of sexual yet cool energy brought by Furtado. The latin influenced club focused hip hop / r&B tone delivered some ridiculous singles on the record, just obscene how many quality singles used to be on albums back in the day. Pop music has fallen of so hard minus XCX and Lipa. I think Guardian Newspapers review described the sound well "Colour huge, walloping beats and minor-chord, robo-metal riffs with the 1980s electro-soul drama of Shannon and the club-kid effervescence of a young Madonna." She delivers the irresistible hooks of Maneater, Promiscuous and Do It with punchy, playful charisma rather than breathy cooing.
Allmusics' review adds more a***ysis of the production (Timbaland) "he gives much of this music a bracing feel, dense with old-school synths, subtle sample collages, bone-crunching bass, cascading vocal hooks, and beats that sound so heavy it takes careful listening to realize how nimble they are"

Reading s***forks review on the album, once again they have no clue about the music or the producers calling Danja "Timbo4cheap production" when in actuality Danja was the one innovating and pushing the production sonics forward during the 00s, he was bringing the ideas to Timbaland and was the major driving force of the Future/Sex Love Sounds music.
Lowkey it's funny to see how much of a female hating company s***fork used to be before they did a quick image clean. Just an ignorant company that had and still has no clue about black influenced music and latin artists.

They should've marketed the album better on R&B radio, that's where her audience would've been. Sis could've been the next Teena Marie
Great album but the answer is simple, she doesn’t have the career JT has.
JT had momentum
