The simple answer is that unless you were British, a foreign woman wasn't going to dominate US airwaves
The end of her peak coincided with the rise of phones and social media

Rihanna
Idk but Say it Right is one of my favorite songs of all time
Im pretty sure everyone knows this album is a masterpiece that generated several #1 and broke few records. S***fork has the worst takes in music. There are many classics that they’ve trashed (that’s literally their brand) But they’ll probably re-review Loose in few years and give it a 9 or 10.
I mean this was just the Timbaland sound. It wasn't as groundbreaking as singles like My Love or Sexyback which literally brought the forefront of electropop into the mainstream.

Facts, while I love Loose it doesn’t have the impact of FSLS. Loose was a product of Timbaland at his peak but that’s where it stops.
JT built his career through *NSYNC and Justified, leading up to FSLS. That album had such an impact that Prince responded but saying sexy never left when Sexyback first dropped. Nelly Furtado didn’t have that type of momentum or impact.
1. The album got plenty of praise. 2000s classic or very close to it imo.
2. The album wasn't as good as FS/LS
3. Her career went downhill after that so going out of your way to praise a falling knife isn't optimal.
cuz when men push music about s***its cool
when women do it they're s***s!
I aint tryna listen to nelly Furtado
a lame nigga just checked into the lame hotel
