Over the last few years I realized a lot of rappers noticeably in the south convert to Santeria or religions that society would deem as witchcraft? (I’m not saying it is and honestly would like to learn about it out of curiosity). I know the Muslim movement is a thing as well but I understand that because of the prevalence in the prison system and low income areas. (I’m cool with a couple 5%ers iykyk) and when we talk about it I realize that’s usually the origin.
But why Santeria in the south usually once they start hanging in Miami? Stunna4, Savage, Kodak, and others. I was watching a stunna TikTok and noticed his bracelets a lot of southern rappers wear Santeria bracelets.
Are they actually converting?
They be playing with that s*** down there. sometimes you need some protection. Just to be safe.
In short because it works but it’s really just mind over matter forreal my nigga brotha panic had hundreds of hours of lectures on this and adjacent materials but he died in November and they deleted his YouTube acct couple months back

Ignorance all around
Black users like @youngtubesteak2 just proving them crackers won by automatically referring to literal AFRICAN religions as demonic.

This is coming from a haitian
So you buying into inaccurate propaganda about vodoun dont make it any less c***dawg lol
My babalawo back in atlanta was Haitian too. R.I.P.
Was just coming in here to ask if the s*** big bank no plug nem do with the chopping chicken heads is the same thing as what @op talking about
I make beats and its relative no name street rappers in my that city do it too. So its not some after fame thing @op lol. I have a theory but what do i know
Somewhat.
It’s part of your ritual where you do sacrifice chickens, hens, type s*** (even a goat if it’s a biggg ceremony type of s***. I saw that once when i was real younger, s*** was alot for a youngin)
But unlike Azalea Banks weird ass, you dont just leave the carcasses in your goddamn closet to decompose, you give it back to the Earth/the woods so other creatures can feed type s***.
It’s a lot of “demonic” propaganda around african/haitian religions that’s surprisingly enough is perpetrated the most by people that practice a certain religion that’s forced upon africans, greenlit s*** tons of genocides, depicts traumatic rapes within its “good book,” and in some sects completely oppresses certain minorities and/or sweeps the abuse of children under the goddamn rug
..But nobody calls that s*** demonic. TUH.
Niggas done got me mad lol.
And if any bestowed-ass niggas that gotta problem with that, take that up with history and ya mammy.
Ashe.

that Santeria/vodun s*** is just another result of the slave trade in west Africa, we ain’t doing that s*** in most of Africa.
Traditionally, there is no religion in Africa. Our ancestors just believed that life is life and we were brought here by a higher, indescribable power. A power that can take life away and create it. People who killed during this time were banished from the village because they were exhibiting a power that was only reserved for the greater by taking a life. They were forced to wander the wilderness, where they would build their own community of savages. Also most communities were a man with multiple wives, with the chief having the most wives. Met the son of a chief dude with 6 wives and he was working on his 7th 😭 it all was just about the community and respecting the higher power by going about your day surviving
That’s the history straight from my great grandparents, grandparents, and parents, thought we’re Christians as Jesus did exist
I really want to learn about African religion because I feel like there’s a lot of white washed elements to the Israelite movement

Yea I honestly want to see why
Found a Santeria goods store round here. Going to get in contact with them to see if they’re willing to teach me about it and possibly open me to the community.
Actually my aunt is a retired witch doctor, I’m going to talk to her about everything first. But I’m getting to the bottom of this
