Yall love to overstate American narrow mindedness, a Canadian is the biggest artist in this country, a Spanish-language and Korean album had two of the biggest first weeks this year. Not to mention British artists have dominated the charts in this country since the 60s

I can’t support grime off principal because grime people claim that grime was created in a vacuum totally separate from hip hop and only derived from uk garage. Those vultures can keep that s***

I am American. On avaerage it’s like we have the most narrow taste in music and aren’t quick to accept new things or out of the box things. If they blow up it’s usually started in the uk or Europe. Their audiences are much more inviting to new things. Why is this?

Does always confuse me seeing Americans dismiss a lot of non-US rap (particularly British) because they think the accents are ridiculous.

Not really seen any other country react to any music genre like that personally

  • Apr 6, 2020

Nah. Americans don't do much right as a country but the diversity of their music scenes is unmatched

They just have a fish and chip on their shoulder because Americans don’t want to hear them rap. I actually like some UK s*** but the fact they don’t just give credit where it’s due makes it hard for me to support it. I never want to hear a drill convo without Chicago being mentioned and people trynna get that off now because of the UK.

Despacito was a game changer for the US. Can't wait for the first latino president of the US

  • Apr 6, 2020

They don’t need to be open minded. Ever heard of the American way of life

People on internet : Americans are ignorant
Also people on internet : generalize all Americans based on media

i've actually never deeped this. nobody complains about accents outside of the US, so weird. i could hear a swiss song and the fact it is a different accent doesn't even cross my mind and vice versa. it's like there's only supposed to be one language and accent on this earth out of almost 200 countries and 6000 languages

Europeans shouldn’t be allowed to comment on rap music

If I had it my way every European would have to pass an exam to make an account here. All Europeans currently here should be quarantined in their own section until they can pass the application process as well.

you are a very strange person

The whole drill conversation is disgusting for real, that’s an even worse example of what I’m talking about. I refuse to call anything from the UK drill
