They're not "giving in" to anything, they're just trying to avoid losing money.

    All about that bottom line.

  • They do that every time people get mad Little Mermaid is black. Reactionaries are the biggest cry babies on planet earth. What is "go woke go broke" if not cancel culture for the right lol

  • they usually dont give in until pockets get low lol

    It’s also just free marketing

Like when Keurig stopped advertising on Hannity’s show and all these conservatives started throwing their keurigs out the window on video

Just to buy another keurig a few months later

    Yea it really depends

Like when a celeb is accused of cultural appropriation for using an every day word and they apologize for it or something it just opens the door to being harassed all the time over meaningless stuff

If 500-1000 fans don't buy your album or see your movie, is that really hurting you tho?

  • Same reason why companies/celebrities virtue signal. Positive image = more $$$

if you have 3000 total fans, then yes.

  • Because most companies are living off investors

Why can't companies or celebs simply say, "If you don't like what I have to say, then don't buy my product."

If insert billion dollar company does something that offends people, and a group of people get upset, those groups of people will not hurt the company. "Go ahead and be mad. We'll still be standing."

It just seems like companies and celebrities are always having to bow down.

Why can't a celebrity say, "I'm already rich. It really doesn't matter if you dont see my movies or buy my music anymore. I'm not hurting."

Because it’s the newest form of blackballing

Unless you got “fuck you” money and leverage in Hollywood like J.K. Rowling for example

Your career is probably going down the drain with all your money drying up until you apologize for what ever offensive thing was done

But why do major corporations with FU money like GAP or Pepsi have to apologize?

  • Hobby lobby didn’t

A lot of people actually take your approach and it works out for them because there's an entire demographic that likes to feel edgy. It's like a facts don't care about your feelings type of vibe.

  • The core thing is to APPEAR that they care. Its also very cheap to do

  • Why does anyone apologize? When you f*** up, you take accountability for it

Or if you’re right, they don’t give a s*** about you, and don’t

  • @OP if you think a little too hard does air blow out through your ears like steam?
