lmao i'm not big upping relapse rn, that s*** was mostly pretty corny.

the mom lines are cringe, no doubt about it. the wife thing...it's weird. like, at face value, it's cringe. probably at a deeper level it's still cringe. but i think he was illustrating how broken domestic partnerships can be incredibly well. like, he exaggerated it for shock value, but the underlying sentiment of "i'm not one of these people in marital bliss. i'm in a loveless marriage and i'm losing my f***ing mind", is a really relatable sentiment for a lot of people. it's sort of brilliant in that regard. even with his mom, while he even admits he blew up how bad she was WAYYYY out of proportion, which is really disgusting, he does illuminate how parent-child relationships can often be a mess. lotta people relate to that.

When people say that his music hasn't aged well is mostly because they outgrew it in terms of relatability (i'm talking mostly about the first 3 records). The rage he was putting on record just doesn't connect with them anymore.
Most of the music still sounds pretty great imo

probably the most vicious hook ever lol. and the thing is, the lyrics aren't just aimless edginess, i.e. "Insane" or something. it's really sharp commentary in a transgressive fashion.
