Tbh school is a game
U go to class make friends study and focus 100% on grades
Unless ur f***ing lazy or remedial or going thru some s*** it shouldn't be that hard
Once u beat the game u should have options. U do internships and work aids. U treat it like a job. That's the biggest mistake ppl don't realize college is a 40hr a week job u will benefit more from than any other job in your life. U can be dumb like me and make dumb bread doing very little. That's specialization. The whole thing is a transparent game and the mistake ppl make is getting lost in the sauce. Just pick something u can stomach and get A's. If it's liberal arts ur stomach needs refinement. Use ur f***ing brain lmao

Damn, this some facts
Oh yeah I heard that there are a ton of jobs in the field of European folklore
keyword - hope
yeah but also if you work at those places you also have to be a massive piece of s***
How so
The real problem is how people view college jobs and just life in general. So many people view life as a d*** measuring contest and this rat race to become to richest most powerful the biggest the best etc without just enjoying it. And that’s the problem with civilizations like America is that everything is a competition for some people. Just slow down and enjoy life, it’s not that bad and hard. These threads and some mindsets itt remind me of those anti cubicle movies before Y2K
every person i ever knew that did this either did it because they wanted to get into education, they wanted to go to law school, or they wanted to just get a college degree but they're bad at math
i also knew a pretty sad dude who majored in communications to bang chicks
he didn't f*** any
I think people need to ask different questions
why are we in a society where people aren't free to pursue their passions but instead must force themselves to get some STEM or finance degree in order to have an acceptable role in the hierarchy?
I feel like in life you have to do what you like, but as other people have said you have to accept the consequences of your actions. In my case, I really like math and jobs revolving around it are pretty good, so I'm lucky.
But living in Italy, here getting a degree is pretty cheap and there's basically no debt involved. You could spend a lot if you live in a big city but thats about it. So here pursuing your passion even if it does not pay super well at least doesn't leave you with thousands of dollars of debt. If that wasn't the case, I'd never go to school for something where the job market is non existant, especially here with the impact of the 2008 crisis still there.
Also helpful to note that a degree is supposed to give you the means to learn yourself, and it's not like your doomed to do something for the rest of your life.

I know you're a socialist but you're talking about people you probably don't even know. It's just a job to 90% of the people working there.
Consultants are fairly useless and Mckinsey has done some shady things in other countries I'd say. Everyone hates bankers, but they also don't really understand the financial system either (.. the benefit they create and work in public finance/infrastructure/innovation tech) These institutions or any aren't inherently evil. I don't feel like arguing it because I want to have my breakfast and coffee but I'd don't like things like this to be thrown around like absolute truths. Not all shortfalls in capitalism are 'evil' because the average person isn't evil. This is just a reflection of normal human behavior and you have to weigh the benefit/cost, good/faults of the system.
Tbh in life to be successful u don't always gotta follow norms nor estimates for a "stable" job
Some people just do what they want to, atleast they'll be happy.
If you 100% know what to do in life, you don't even need college

I feel like every STEM/Finance/Acct or what major realizes this as they grow up. We did our thing for stability/jobs. The people that pick other majors have a more comfortable background and freedom to major in whatever. You can't fault them for that.

And think about this
In trying times like these, creatives know how to get by, or are comfortable when there's a little drought in almost everything
People with a stable job in a hierarchy are at home now holding head on where to get their next meal from
I know people that have only 250-300 dollars monthly salary and that s*** can get cut off

Ight you don't wanna argue so I'll just lmao at this
Yeah but who actually knows what they want to do in high school
Exactly, so why jump into a field you might not enjoy just because you think it makes money? You can have a degree in the arts and flip it into a whole career that’s not necessarily related to that specific degree.
A degree matters, but the person behind matters more. Speaking for myself, outside of the first couple interviews right after I graduated nobody was asking me what I majored in while in school. My work experience and my ability to adapt and improvise was more important.
On these hard KTT streets it’s either live your dream and makes beats for a living or get a stable job in STEM. Everybody else is an idiot and sheep.
And then complain when they’re 30k in debt
Go to community/local college for your useless degree breh it ain’t that serious
Cringe
Because they're interested in the subject and wanna learn about it in a academic environment - they learn various skills applicable to every day and every career
