I am NOT a climate change denier. The climate has been changing since there was a climate. The advent of plant life that eventually created the mass of oxygen that supports life today, for example, changed our climate significantly. So have volcanic eruptions and asteroid hits. So have a thousand other factors. Humans were not around then, nor did we create mass extinctions. That’s fact, not opinion.

Everybody likes/needs a placebo in order to make sense of things in life and the world.

We don’t have each other so we need something beyond us.

What does any of this have to do with the fact that current climate patterns are explicitly the result of human interference with our atmosphere

How you gonna lump climate change in with that other stuff lol? Obviously earths climate is always changing, but the more recent changes we’ve been seeing have been due to humans. We’ve known since the late 1800s how gasses such as CO2 and methane reflect radiation back at earth. More recently we can directly see the consequences in changing temperatures that are much more rapid than anything we’ve measured in the recent past. Look at pictures of the Arctic ice sheet in the summer over the past 30 years. In the near future there will be no sea ice during the summer in the Arctic. This is 100% due to humans (for better and worst).
