idk about this. in my experience outside the country, every US movie/TV show on TV is dubbed and the dubbed versions in theaters are much more popular than the subtitled versions

I almost always watch subtitled because it's more true to how it was made

that being said, sitcoms and animations should be watched dubbed imo because they're either casual viewing or you don't want to miss the visuals

Sometimes they only have rights to the sub versions and not the dubs cus it’s too costly compared what they may get back in money

Naw I'm withya a bit. I'm not trying to read dialogue. I only put subtitles on shows where everyone talks in whispers like game of thrones.

But its weird I'll watch a foreign flick subbed a lot of times but I only watch anime dubbed

Not really. Some are pretty good. Ya'll just not used to the other language so it sounds weird.

If you're from an English speaking country then pretty much everything is in your language unless you’re into foreign movies or anime. If you're not, then you need subtitles for everything. That sucks.

Dubs are way more fun, that's why theaters promote those. Those are the ones most people go to.
