I went to school in the 80's and none of this s*** would fly.

Every school administration I have ever seen has the weakest f***ing backbone. No support for teachers, bending over backwards for parents and sponsors at any given moment.

Teachers have no support. Imo, dismantle the school board and superintendent system, allow the teachers themselves to own the districts and decide on curricula, punishments, etc. and democratize the process.

It makes no sense that some rando selection of elected officials that don't even have a background in education get to decide what teachers do and act on a regular basis

No I wasn’t but you can find countless studies that prove that student behavior is worse than it’s ever been due to the pandemic. Children reflect the adults around them and I don’t think it’s insane to suggest that adults are more hostile and negative toward each other now than ever

That all depend on the school you was at, it's districts that's a lot rougher than others, lot of different experiences at many schools across the nation

One side of my fam grew up in chicago during the 60s-80s so they got plenty stories i've heard about students and teachers too. Granted teachers could get away with a lot of shti that would def get them fired these days

My hs nobody got close to ever fighting a teacher, but don't mean it ain't happen at other schools in the country or down the road

I don't disagree that it's bad kids and pandemic might've messed up social skills or whatever for kids

But at the same time 80s to 90s was the worst crime rates in the country, it was a lot of terrible s*** people were growing up around back then. If the pandemic is a reflection of today, then that s*** had to certainly be a reflection for those growing up back then. I mean studies prove that seeing violence as a kid tends to follow those that grow up to be violent adults later in life

Narcissism + inability to discern this is someone who needs respect. Students in that class probably view that teacher as more of a peer than a person leading them
