Yep. i said something like this in the video too. they're all from the lineage of what people expect hip-hop to sound like

i think plenty of people are talking about the other two but it makes sense people talk more about these three guys on here because

    1. all 3 are influenced by kanye who is the namesake of this site
    2. this site's demo leans twentysomething and all those people grew up on these guys

Yeah I know me too I grew up with Drake in my generation at the end of the day it’s normal you’re right

If Travis and Future were more lyrical, they'd be in the convo too tbh.

I doubt Future would imo. I can see Trav tho, if he actually gets on a Wayne type run and finds his footing.

    Cole is interesting.

I think Cole's mainly in the Big 3 due to similar origins, having a good rapping ability, and having a strong core fanbase.

Cole got cosigned on a major label started by an established rapper(Hov) much like Drake(Wayne) and Kendrick(Dre).

He had a big breakout album that sort of defines him in FHD much like Drake(TC) and Kendrick(GKMC).

And he's shown that he has the ability to sell out arenas as a solo headliner much like Kendrick and Drake.

And he put up big numbers without much help from other rappers hence the whole "platinum with no features" meme.

But, that said, Cole has very limited influence, can come off a bit generic compared to Kendrick/Drake(with Wale and Big KRIT having similar "everyday man" raps), doesn't have many iconic hits, and doesn't have that great of a discography compared to Kendrick or 09-15 Drake.

Because of that, I can see why Cole is often debated as a Big 3 rapper. At the same time, though, Future nor Travis embody hip hop as much as Cole. As hadji inferred, they're kinda in their own lane with Travis primarily being a producer more than a rapper and Future being seen as more of a trap artist than a traditional emcee.

I could say that Tyler is slowly creeping up

2016 - present Drake is very inconsistent.

CLB, Scorpion, and FATD are the worst albums in his career.

Future is currently a more “lyrical” rapper than Travis. Honestly don’t know the last time I turned a Travis song on and said “wow that was a dope verse and it said something”

I disagree with the last take on Cole, I think he does have the hits and that is partly why he’s also ranked so highly. He may not have the billboard metric hits (which btw f*** how much this f***ing company has controlled our view of music and what we classify as a hit. There’s so many songs that have never charted or charted weakly that are timeless classic hits)

I’ll even go as far as to say if you went to a Cole show versus a Kendrick show, you’d see more people singing along to Cole’s music than to Kendrick’s (speaking from having gone to both shows lmfao)
