my god this era bro
this was my s*** growing up
You know pharrell was like an obsession of mine for years lol, so cool to see another fan on here
Yeah I'm a super harsh critic, my voice trash it doesn't have that X factor personality needed. People are born with that, you can get all the lessons u want, you can't teach that personality that comes through the vocal tone and cadence
Usher has that, Miguel has that
Personality comes from
being confident in the tone and story u have and carving the best features out of it

That music video is unreal, that song
WHATTTTTTTTTTT THE FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK

I'm talking about the sonics of a voice, there are qualities that are innate and not learned
You know pharrell was like an obsession of mine for years lol, so cool to see another fan on here

Damn I want to go back 15 years ago pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Nah thats wrong. I used to exclusively sound like a chicken farm at 6 in the morning
Now people say my voice sounds like one of them 90s RnB niggas. And i learned a lot of other tonalities too
The emotion with those tones comes from your ability to deliver. Practice right, practice hard and dont give up.
my fav album of his, i didnt like G I R L like that
yeah same the only track I really liked on it was gust of wind tbh
yeah same the only track I really liked on it was gust of wind tbh
I didnt even like one song lol
It was like Walmart mom music, I understand he wanted to go Jazzy and uplift women, and I think he achieved that goal but for me I want Skateboard P, that VA Beach street s***, that acid stripped down drum rap and R&B melodies
Same with Justin Timberlakes latest album, what the actual f*** was that.
it's not Alliyah recontexualised it's literally just 100% Aaliyah
Just proves how all the innovation was happening in the past, where the f*** is the next stage, it's not going to be trap s*** I bet my life on it.
the next stage isn’t going to be trap but it’s going to be in the realm of hip hop
Like how in the 80s u go from hair metal to grunge in the same lane just completely different axis

lmfao okay if you say so
I been had my thumb on the pulse, the sound is going away from that rap s***. You will see within two years
I didn;t give Tinahe enough credit
Her Songs for You album is one of my favs in the last 10 years

Yeah this is something people seem to forget. Someone can technically sing but the sonics and other nuances of their voice really matter. The only way I can describe it from my ears is that someone can sing and sound decent but it doesn't sound good enough or have that it factor in my opinion. That's why I hate listening to those youtube cover artists because their voice just ruins the song for me even though they can sing.

This is something you learn lol when you A&R for a lot of people, so many people have straight boring and voices that aren't believable, the words don't sound real when they sing them, they have no vocal personality, no unique qualities

I think i'm okay at noticing that which is why it's hard for to find new artists I really f*** with lmfao. It also sucks when my girl plays some new artists for me that she really likes and I gotta tell her I think it's mid because they just sound bland

Luke James was the last artist I thought, this guy is legit, every word sounds real, he sings with that conviction and his tonal quality is f***ing unreal
