Not going to act like I read every post in here, but Carti came with WLR and basically broke some doors down for a whole rage/plugnb subculture. Built a label on it. Gave some of those producers careers. It's not pop. It's some insular weird s*** for nerds.

it isn’t necessarily just the lack of substance and lyrical content for Travis, it’s that he’s painfully generic and injects little to no personality into any of his vocal performances whatsoever

it’s even worse because some references came out and some of these verses he didn’t even write at all, and instead just copy and pasted lyrics from it with no changes whatsoever lmao

Carti in between his vocal pitch shifts, ad libs and changing inflections, it’s all very unique and standout and you can tell that it’s Carti just how he utilizes his voice alone, which makes up for his lack of lyrical content

i still think he gets a lot of grace on this site anyways though cause niggas like to d***ride

Travis Scott has received backlash over the lack of lyrical substance across his career and especially recently with the release of UTOPIA

However, man like Carti has been releasing music about nothing (hide it in my sock ?? Molly my bean ????) for half a decade now but everyone seems to be okay with it

What makes Carti’s poor content acceptable ? Is it because he works with meme producers (Pierre Bourne and wake up filthy) ?

Carti does it better and we know what to expect from him. Travis since Owl Pharaoh was hyped up to be a Kanye like special artist and he hasn't lived up to that at all outside of Rodeo being a classic .
