Not worth auguring over but the collection of personal data and forced exposure to ad’s for profit can be treated as exploitation

My guy I get that you hate capitalism but I feel bad seeing someone’s livelihood get destroyed.

A nigga running a small restaurant or a corner store or whatever doesn’t deserve that. Have some empathy. Everything isn’t black and white

For example, during the George Floyd protests, you had a lot of people hand wringing over the fact that small, local businesses might get looted or destroyed. Similarly, when discussions of minimum wage arise, you get the bad faith actors talking about how it would ruin small businesses who can't afford it and would go out of business or see their profit margins drop significantly.

But why should anyone care about that? These small businesses are really just there reproducing exploitation and inequality on a smaller scale and sometimes in an even more insidious way because they try to draw employees in with that "we're a family here" crap while paying them even worse than a big brand might.

In the end, small business owners are seeking to do the same thing as big business; that being to increase their profits as much as possible, which naturally entails heightened levels of exploitation wherever possible. There is nothing noble about them just because they only have a certain amount of employees, or because they only exist in your neighborhood.

I am all for workers rights and everything , but there is a right and wrong way to go about it . Honestly , this example in the link I’m providing is tricky because I’m not sure how much of it comes down to this single married couple grabbing their ball and going home before they get bullied into letting a bunch of kids convince them they’ll bring it right back only to never see it again , or even just what began as a passion project running its course and devolving into that same story of a proud creator leaving early out of pride and a desire to go out on top vs what seems like the obvious conclusion , which is that this attempt at introducing marxist principles into the workplace backfired

    thecrimson.com/article/2022/11/15/darwins-ltd-close-all-locations

I guess what I want to stress here is that there is a legitimate breaking point for these small businesses and as much as I understand that reform vs revolution is a frustrating concept that certain people often find themselves on the wrong side of out of an overblown sense of caution , there has to be a middle ground that we have to adhere to as people seeking real change

You can support Communism and also realize that we objectively live in a capitalist society where you have to engage in capitalism in survive

If a mom and pop shop is doing business to put food on the table and are treating and paying the workers fairly i got no problem with that

The announcement came less than a month after the Darwins announced the closure of the chain’s original location on Mt. Auburn St., citing workload and personal health concerns.

Yeah the owners didn't want to manage their s*** properly lol

If you ever ran a small business then you'd understand. This is like when guys who don't get p**** ask why get married or even have sex/relationships with women when divorce and breakup rates are sky high.

There are more layers to what you're aware of. You don't know what it's like to scale a business. You've never experienced a "slow business" day. You've never been screwed over an opportunity that impacts you and your employees pockets.

Ofc I also have to remind myself you're a mediocre celtic fan who only one Lucky ring in the past 30+ years. Trash ass average ran business and team.

Why don't you approach the celtics with your ideals and watch former Ainge and now "Coach Braddd" slam that door on your commie ass lol

Hey look at your last Finals appearance.
