are you mentally ill lmao? what differences does it make how many times i saw it? the point is it isn’t comparable to MBDTF, which yeah i saw it on here
Ain't nobody comparing them albums in the first place stop it
Why does every single album I enjoy « came and went » according to ktt I’ll never know
We need a new Solange album cause that’s the only album I can see this site sticking with for a couple of months
No it's not
That's literally idealism
Putting the mind before physical reality is idealism 101
any album that doesn’t have an obvious smash is gonna get this treatment cause thats the only way to sustain huge streaming numbers & the illusion that people hang onto albums for more than a month
Because there's barely any bars or memorable verses especially from Travis. I swear the album is 90% production and features but Travis's actual rapping holds no real weight
That last verse on MY EYES is phenomenal
personally I playlist my favorites on there haven’t felt like listening to the whole thing since the week it released
the "mind" isn't a physical thing
consciousness doesn't "exist", it's a phenomenon that happens within the brain as it interacts with the rest of the body and perceives the external world. Nobody getting consciousness surgery
The "mind" is literally an abstract concept describing humans physical capacity to achieve abstract consciousness
If you did an X-Ray on someone there won't be a "mind" inside the body lmao
No one said that, only comparison was Yeezus and thats simply because of the direct influence. Y'all be fighting ghosts on here
Someone definitely called it a generational album along the likes of MBDTF and TPAB in the Utopia thread during the weekend it dropped. I remember because I was reading that post like
"yeah it isn’t a physical thing, but most materialists don’t acknowledge this because it cuts into their physicalist thesis"
"that’s why they either try to identify consciousness with what the brain does like you just did (behaviorism) or try to say consciousness emerges out of complex neuronal activity (strong emergentism) because their goal is to reduce everything in reality into a complete mechanistic theory of everything lmao, when that’s not how things work"
"just because i don’t have proof on hand that someone compared utopia to MBDTF, doesn’t mean it didn’t happen"
And some people on this site can't seem to understand that their experience is by no means universal I barely listen to the album but that doesn't mean it came and went it just means I don't care for it
This. A lot of people on here are completely incapable of gauging the world outside of their own bubble
Personally I stopped giving a s*** about it a few days after it dropped. But that's mostly because I wasn't really all that excited about it to begin with. I'm sure the people who were excited for it are still listening to it and enjoying it, and that's good for them.
I'm also sure that the tour Travis goes on in support of Utopia will be very successful, and he will likely sell out the two stadium shows he has in NY/NJ and LA.
