I don't doubt there are people who genuinely think 40 is overrated.
Problem is this is KTT and anything attached to Drake = bad. So you cant look at them jumping on 40 and expect to take it seriously.
thats what im saying tbh. i do think he's overrated to an extent since his newer production is mid but he still has classics, same can go for drake.
He was never that great. Bandana is awful. Mm food got better beats than madvillainy
Have you never listened to Pinata instrumentals? Its on streaming do yourself the honor
40 was at the forefront of that whole Toronto hazy lofi underwater sound over a decade ago. Could never be overrated with that amount of influence
I think at this point he needs to work with different artists. His work is almost exclusively for drake or featuring drake. We know he can do that but great producers work with more than one person.

40 is one of the main niggas that came up with the sound that made all these current rnb niggas career lol, hes one of the most influential producer of all time
Def not the most overrated but I do wish he produced for more artists
Agreed, that Actin Crazy beat that Action Bronson got was .

You see it. Where would Bryson and 6lack be without 40

Never mind that’s awesome. That was just my perception of it I’m glad he’s doing well

is he as influental as dr dre? nah but hes definitely one of the most influential producer of all time lol
like this nigga was one of the few niggas who reshaped a whole genre lol

I don’t even think that sound is even popular anymore. It’s more trap influenced with melody which imo is more from Thugger and Future.
I agree he had some influence with Tiller PND etc but all those niggas irrelevant now. I think 40 nice but like... he’s not really on a lot of dudes levels and I could easily name like 4 other producers leagues ahead of him

bro rnb 1000000% took a new direction after 2010-11 lmao like it aint even a discussion to be had, that s*** basically became something different lol and a huge part of that credit goes to 40
and it's slowly moving on but still niggas is still heavily using his sound even rn lol like niggas like faiyaz, 6lack and even girls like jhené who are extra popping rn made their style off what he brought to the game
how u gonna tell me a nigga whose sound artists are still chasing after almost 10 years later aint one of the most influental producers ever lmao?
40 a legend and a great producer
He mastered that lo-fi somber sound and stick with it for a long time that's the only thing that held him back, not saying that sound is bad but his sonic soundscapes are rather limited
niggas yall love to gas up like alchemist and madlib didnt do half what 40 did for rnb lol

I never said he wasn’t but like y’all acting lkke he’s the goat and Drake had nothing to do with it. Drake the face, and he’s the one making the melodies and rap style. He hasn’t worked with anyone else and it’s hard to give me the “GOAT” status when in reality plenty of producers have made other artists popular showing they are versatile in their craft. I’m not disputing the fact there was a trend but I’m not gonna put him in Pharrell, Kanye, Dre, Premier etc. status because he just isn’t there yet
