i think tribe made better jazz influenced albums

    thanks to Jdilla of course

Digable Planets Blowout Comb sounds similar to TPAB. Doesn’t discredit how great of an album this is.

That album is a bunch of raps too fast couple with a few good songs.

"These walls" and "the intro" are the only 2 songs that offer ANY replayablity for the album. Once you've played it first i see no desire compared to GKMC that offers replayability.

how can an album with so many misses get such rave reviews? is it just because nothing came close to mbdtf this decade apart from blonde? and people just want to discredit Ye by chucking another album in the mix?

because its the only flawless rap album in music history...100/100 musical compostion

lol this album is actually so good

  • Nov 23, 2019

I don't think I've heard a hip hop album with better musical composition than tpab, and I'm an actual music lecturer.

obviously hes still kendrick. but the production definitely made the album i dont think anyone is arguing that

    also kendrick

like david bowie said, kedrick's intonation and voices on tpab was groundbreacking, and Kendrick voice ALONE influenced Blackstar's production.

  • Nov 23, 2019

quick reminder that tpab is currently praised as the best album of the decade, rightfully so

legendary artists that were influenced by TPAB for their last album:

    Prince
    David Bowie
Herbie Hancock (literally wanted to make tpab 2)
    Public Enemy
    ...
    the list goes on

also a TON of other artists, but I'd rather only list legendary artists that only kendrick has been able to influence...cuz people like young thug don't count, even a medicore artist like Kanye was able to influence them.

also, as a music lecturer, I'd say tpab is a 10/10 and mbdtf a solid 8, from a pure objective standpoint

anybody with musical nkowledge would agree with that, like Talib Kweli said.

    It's literally peak music.

Mozart would've s*** his pants and quit music if he ever heard Hood Politics

    very true

I don't think anybody would be able to mention a better rap album, from an objective angle

like Herbie Hancock said, from a pure musical standpoint, you can have the argument tpab is top 5 album of all time, in any musical genre.
