    It’s kinda obvious with Reese

Sosa on the other hand is somewhat of an anomaly. His initial run shed light on the entire Chicago scene. Even artists that were the antithesis of what Sosa represented benefited from the spotlight Sosa put on Chicago. Nobody from his gen will have that type of impact. Most artists in general don’t have that impact. So his 2011-2012 material already set a high standard in his city

Then his influence spreads throughout the industry. By the time the entire world catches up he’s on his Almighty So s***. A gen of kids took their influence from that era and created SC rap. That doesn’t really blow up on a large scale until around 2016

While that’s going on Bobby and Rowdy are creating the NY drill lane. Eventually we get to Pop Smoke. UK drill blowing up too

So without Chief Keef there is no Durk, Herb, etc. Plus Chance, Vic, Saba, Mick, etc wouldn’t pop off the same way. No Carti and Uzi. No NY drill

I know Durk and Herbo hot and they def cemented themselves amongst their peers but Sosa influenced an entire decade. He’s a legend at this point. He’s already done what most rappers will never do. With the right team he could do what Durk and Herb doing right now but he already did. The fact that he could easily make a mainstream comeback says a lot about his impact

Good point on like Chance and Vic popping because of Keef, they were like a direct response to drill as far as fans go

I mean yeah just from a fan pov but I’m talking about him as an artist, after his first album he never really showed he was interested in all that fame s*** to be a “star”

most artist are interested in all that fame s***, thats not what star power is. Some of the artists w the most star power ever didn't even want the fame. Look at Bob Marley for example.

Chief Keef doesn’t have good management nor quality control nor the personal motivation to be a str

    And I think that’s okay

yeah its cooler to not care

i feel like if you have to ask this you probably have no self awareness because it’s pretty obvious durk stayed in the mix, keef got out of the mix, and herb always sounded different, and reese just the least interesting.

This. He's already made his mark being the pioneering face of an entire movement that's become global. He can do whatever he likes at this point.
