I haven’t even listened to it but I’m dying, imagine drake making music that would warrant a thumbnail like that to represent it
That song sounds like what the thumbnail looks like
Most times when Drake experiments it's bad
Fr, people always say this and then forget he made "Glow"
Fr, people always say this and then forget he made "Glow"
Glow isn’t a bad song tho
Get @Sinewave in here so we can talk about how Drake needs to start smoking crack
Said it before and I’ll say it again, he needs to develop a serious heroin habit before recording any more music. This would be the best possible career move for him.
He would produce a deranged, dark, d***ged out experimental album that would be praised. He’d give grizzly accounts of life and the situations he gets into while being a fiend, and hustling pills on the side to fuel his addiction as people begin to distance themselves from him. Soon it would come out about his addiction and the media would be buzzing. Scandal after scandal would arise and he’d be the most talked about person in the world as he continues down this dark path of addiction and insanity. Then, he would get arrested for possession and do a stint in jail, adding credibility to the hard image he’s been trying to adopt for sometime. The #FreeDrake movement would be like nothing we’ve ever seen before and it would spark an international conversation about how we treat addicts (rehabilitative vs punitive punishment.
Drake would get out, get clean, and become the face of the opiate epidemic sweeping North America, opening him up to even wider audiences and platforms. His first album after release would sell a million first week and be praised, as Drizzy explores a whole new realm of lyrical content reflecting on his past degenerate behavior and becomes a symbol of hope for millions dealing with addiction. This would be great for his image, solidify him as one of the greatest rappers ever, and create worldwide change that benefits millions for years to come.
The best possible thing drake could do for his career is to start doing as much dog food as possible, as soon as possible.

damn
Scorpion really is a classic man. Between Mob Ties and Emotionless, Is There More, Blue Tint, Gods Plan, Elevate, Final Fantasy, Ratchet Happy Birthday, Nice for What in my feelings... Jesus Christ, just seeing it laid out like this... greatest album in Drakes discography and it’s not even close and I love his other s***
Experimenting isn’t making “weirdo” music. It’s just trying fresh sounds.
so no bounce wasnt new sound for drake?
spooky I'm upset sounds like other drake tracks?
almost synthpop summer games wasnt fresh for him?
man was rapping over preemo beat at the same album and yall still say that he dont go ouside the box

Nah bruh
When drake tapped into dancehall and other sounds yall called it wave riding
Just admit yall want him to be on some weirdo s*** cause yall are so bothered by his dominance in the mainstream

Why do y’all get so bothered when people say they’d rather hear new s*** from Drake? Was he showing love to dancehall before it became mainstream? You really think stepping out the box mean weirdo s*** lol. That says more about you.
I mean when you go from talking like a regular dude to “ehh no ting tings eh” all of a sudden people are going to call you a wave rider
Drake and experimenting is a f***ing hilarious combo. When was the last time Drake experimented?
Drake does try new things and he isn’t really given credit for them tbh.
Trav definitely takes risks

Have you heard the 'Vital' leak? Woulnd't call that experimental music but for Drake is a nice change
I don't think this is true...cus when Drake switches it up and does carribean style s*** niggas call him a culture vulture
travis i agree on tho
But Op @ahndial dig this, i think Kanye (production wise) set the perfect recipe, majority of his albums stems from sampling and then with a different genre blended on top
College drop out - Soul samples
Late registration - Soul samples with orchestra
Graduation - Soul samples with electro synths
808s - Exception
MBDTF - Different samples with rock elements and synths
Yeezus - Exception but still had samples with industrial elements
TLOP - Mixture of all his s***
and i'll stop there, i remember reading where he said all his beats are just a sequel to a previous beat so he remains a consistent style, but he blends a new genre on top to give it a new refreshing sound.
They say that's the key to music, having the perfect blend of familiarity and also contrast. Cus rapping wise Ye was consistently the same (obviously except 808s) and production wise he has his go to starting point which is sampling.
Thats literally how he was doing his productions
1. Do a basic beat by sampling a song and adding drums
2. Decide what genre he's gonna mesh in with this next album
3. Bring in other musicians to add sounds on top
And that's that, and if you look back that was the formula to his classic albums.
Have you heard the 'Vital' leak? Woulnd't call that experimental music but for Drake is a nice change
my only issue is that he doesn't do enough of this. Like Vital is great, but then the album will come out and sound nothing like this. I need Drake to do some Kanye s*** and just release a sound that nobody was expecting from him.

Oh yeah for sure i agree with you 100% and i think that this time around he HAS to bring a new fresh sound in his next project, like that song per example... Otherwise most people are just gonna get bored tbh

Knowing how calculated Drake is, this is actually an amazing idea but damn i would never want to see anyone develop a heroin addiction....like that d*** aint attractive at all lmaooo
maybe a drinking problem or coke addiction?
actually nah man I could never wish that on nobody but a great idea none the less

See everyone says this about Kanye "do a sound nobody was expecting from him"
But through out his history, majority of his albums have had s*** we expected just with unexpected s*** on top, with the exception of like 808s and JIK
This what i mean
When we think kanye, we know we can expect to hear great samples, so we already have a starting point, that's the familiarity element. But what we don't expect is what genre he's going to blend in. So maybe we are saying the same thing? But a lot of times i notice people make it sound like Kanye just creates these never before heard sounds (in rap) when realistically what he does is takes his go to process of sampling, and then blending in a new genre which ultimately becomes a new sound when completed, but those elements of familiarity has always been there. But 808s and Yeezus and JIK is the exception.
808s is completely new and left field, Yeezus is sorta left field, but alot of songs still had his go to process where the songs starts with the samples, and JIK same thing but mans did a full out gospel album so lyrically was left field.
