honestly bro niggas be one dimensional. especially in the mainstream.
tyler or kaytra or even wondagurl make some of the best beats and are unique but you can easily find a pocket to rap over them if you’re really versatile. but they’re underutilized and under appreciated by rappers because it doesn’t sound like everything else
with that said though i do think the fans appreciate all these producers, it’s just the artists be scared to do something different
I think the fans also play a part in that and it’s why artists don’t branch out. It’s easier to accept a beat that you know will definitely knock to the masses versus taking a risk and having it not hit on the streams. It’s an unfortunate loop until someone eventually breaks out of it
Bro wtf are you talking about that is not a thing that happened
Tyler himself has always complained about not getting placements
There was never even close to a time where “everyone wanted Tyler beats”
maybe it was just artists that i was listening to at the time but people like ab soul, schoolboy q, mac miller and others had either rapped over his beats or asked him for beats
what time period was this?
for a few years between like 2013 and 16
There's a reason type beats are big on Youtube, rappers are too afraid to really experiment with their sound. Rather get a Drake type beat on Youtube and keep it moving.
big rappers don’t really be rapping on type beats that often though, especially drake ones
this was the last time someone put a tyler beat on their album
!https://youtu.be/q2ClOjQGeGIWhen u mess around on garage band for the first time
he needs to find something like the clipse
i dont wanna hear any soft boy reddit rappers on tyler beats
big rappers don’t really be rapping on type beats that often though, especially drake ones
Because they don't need type beats they just go to the producers
was the Maxo kream stuff the last time he had beats on someone else's album?
I'm sure tyler is particular as well

How many beats did people rap over in that period? Schoolboy gave him two placements, Mac did one song right, I don’t remember one with ab soul
Even still that’s a small group of people lol and they were just grabbing like one track, he was never an in demand producer in the grand scheme
"all he did was play the piano"
bruh its only two instruments lmao. all he did was produce half the damn song
then when you realize he didn't even come up with the idea or sample and it doesn't really matter
Sorry bruh I didn’t know you took it that serious.

me saying everyone earlier was hyperbolic but i still feel like a lot of artists who blew up from his generation were aware of him and he was still able to get some good placements considering how niche him and o.f. were back then
and the ab soul thing i mentioned was in a video of him asking tyler for some "creepy ass beats"
@garetare
Why go to a bootleg Pharrell?
Because he makes better Neptunes/Pharrell esque beats than Pharrell right now.
Ironically Come On Let’s Go is Pharrell’s best beat in years and sounds nothing like the sound you’re referring to that Tyler mimics
I think it’s because Tyler has a more distinct style and energy to his beats inherently, and rappers might want to be able to instruct the producer on what energy they want, or just want a beat where the rapper decides the energy.
Idk though.
used a beat without having him as a feature on the album
rappers so p**** man lol. It's crazy the producers that get chose versus the ones that don't.
Kaytranada should be sought out by everybody man.
Niggas should be blowing up monte line
love this song
