Definitely my favourite Nas album. Had the perfect blend of radio hits, modern production and insightful lyricism you’d expect from Nas.
Never hear people talk about it
Y'all My Niggas, Breathe and Queens Get the Money >
Nearly a front to back classic, gets a bit political towards the end but Nas is good at that

Damn you're right to be honest. The blend was perfect

That was the point of the album, to be his most politically charged but he didn’t execute well.

I found it engaging
It semi came and went when it was released. 2008 was a different era. Distant Relatives met a similar fate. Superb albums regardless.
Heard this is @Hereditary and @notbrock fav album
Weirdly the album that got me into Nas
As a sophomore in college it was perfect for my fake intellectual ass
There was an early Twitter controversy about journalist dream Hampton saying Jay Electrónica and one of the Dead Prez guys ghostwrote on that album that probably didn’t help its reputation.

"gets a little bit political" as a slight to an album called N1gger as a political social message is hilarious
"gets a bit political towards the end" sounds like a general negative n the way he singled it out, but then the "but Nas is good at that" is saying it one of the rare times its ok.
Comes off as one of those white dudes on social media that calls anything non white a "bit political" imo but i could be reaching.
Regardless no duh its a bit political, the whole album is & thats the whole point

u very much reaching bruh
politics in art can usually f*** s*** up, like make it dated or cringe. look at any art associated w hillary clinton campaign. so its not out of pocket to be like "yeah it gets political, but it's done well in this case". perfectly normal way 2 phrase it imo.
