The dance stuff is cool but this song is so pretty to me.
!https://youtu.be/5awuTRBwYqAthe gate on those fuzzy keys fuse with the quiet little beat to create a single unified rhythm and chord section, almost like a guitar strumming. Sounds like an old Ed Sheeran song from another planet
beautiful song
kinda reminded me of bon iver tbh
the fact that people itt are even comparing someone making pop music with yves tumour and aphex twin is just so bizarre to me lmfao
not everyone has to make ultra experimental music
imagine being at that boiler room and seeing the feelgood party vibes and thinking ‘its alright but its no aphex twin 🤓’
Big facts
Some ppl on here just don’t know how to have a good time so they’re natural instinct is to go against those that do unfortunately
that boiler room was the worst crowd ive ever seen idk why anyone would want to go

Gentle reminder that there was a thread that asked users who the last new artist they were excited for was, and the most popular answer was Playboi Carti

For good reason. That nigga gave us this.

For good reason. That nigga gave us this.
!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2a-AK_39xg8Yeah that's one of my favorite albums of all time.
I'm just saying that there's a large number of posters that turn their nose up at any artist that started releasing music after they graduated high school
For good reason. That nigga gave us this.
!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2a-AK_39xg8The point is that Carti came out 8 years ago which shows KTT isn’t actively looking out for new artists
I’ll be the one to say it this dude literally only being heralded as if he’s the next Aphex Twin cause he’s white
fill me in if there’s any other possibility because, I listened to some of his music a bit earlier and it’s nothing to write home about. niggas acting like Safe in the hands of Love didn’t come out 4 years ago. But apparently THIS is what saved electronic music, and is what music as a whole needed… interesting.
no one is calling him aphex twin lol
Yeah that's one of my favorite albums of all time.

KTT was championing Kodak Black when he was only 16. S***, I've noticed KTT often gets hype about dudes who are 16-18, and they're normally early on the wave. Been like that since KTT1.

Yeah man when everyone on here was also 16
Drake sxn working overtime to sell this guy to me. Stop it lmao. It's good music, but he's not God's saving grace
Yeah man when everyone on here was also 16
You moving goal posts now b.
here's what's happened in my opinion:
boiler room has always been a popular, alternative type of music to listen to, and its always been regarded as pretty cool for electronic music via youtube - the most bland music ever made IMO is EDM and that has no artist value in it whatsoever - so people got sick of that when david guetta through that about ten years ago
but people haven't really been paying attention to electronic music much - but while they do that, mainstream music has headed more towards the electronic scene - PC music, charli xcx, beyonce, drake, the weeknd, a lot of music now is electronic heavy
anyway so now finally people are waking up and they think oh yeah lets check out boiler room
lo and behold, its a bloke who makes fresh tech house which is catchy enough to grab attention, followed by actual skill and then a crowd who bring a lot of energy
post covid, people love the sound and energy
that being said, id never go to one of his gigs because there'd be no room and everyone would be annoying (phones out, pushing, d*** fueled)

this is a music forum, everyone champions everyone - i had a guy dm me about jay idk like 7 years ago

I just misworded that post, still early in the morning lol.
I meant that this site isn't as ahead of the curve when it comes to newer music anymore. Which is why anytime an artist starts to get buzz on here the first page is full of people insisting they're a plant.
From a pioneer standpoint Burial deserves that, nothing wrong with it, but to say he doesn't make similar music at points is wild
bro when the F*** does he sound like burial lmaoooooooooooooooooooooo pls do share
one thing comparing pop with pop, a whole other thing comparing experimental with pop.
like why would you come in here and ask some dumbass question like why yves tumour and arca arent getting a boiler room lifted like that? its because they dont make music in that lane. they are not even remotely in that lane ffs
Think its because people saw the tweet saying he's "breaking new ground"
Its hard to take that seriously if it's just pop edm and nothing that new or different
I dunno what this article is on about Fred embodies social media content culture edm to me
You're not wrong. He's not bad, but at the same time I don't think he's like incredible. Just seems like the Flowdan x Skrillex song is what blew him up on twitter in my circles at least.
all i know is this is one of the greatest songs ive ever heard lmao
!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MLG0rV-ZUIEthis is literal npc music
