Amd yes i agree that not many english only people are listening to him on their own, but thats not the be all end all & its being outweighed
USA speaking, also doesnt care for this kind of music in general in mass, Bunny or Wiz, so thats also why an Wnglish "version" isnt gonna work either, because its not the english people that care either way.
Totally different market & demo. Which is also why some US people havent even really heard a Bunny song.
Its not your circle lol & English isnt everything anymore thanks to streaming & the internet.
Two different genres of music, more Spanish speakers in the US, likely much more Latinos in the US than Africans, and yes of course most Americans are gonna choose the white passing Latino singer than the darkskin African singer.
That being said both are great artists who make great music. And I prefer to chill at spots who play both their music. I need some culture when I'm at the club.
S***, niggas are barely listening to African music lol
Not really Caribbean and West african music is huge in NYC, Atlanta and other places where Black immigrants move to a majority black areas.
That Beyoncé Afro pop album flopped for a reason
It flopped cuz it wasn’t Beyoncé standard
damn i can already tell some dumb s*** is gonna be said in this thread.
shoutout starboy and bad bunny
this is how you make peace with yourself
I honestly don’t think Bad Bunny and Wizkid are really comparable, other than being from “outside” markets (yes ik Bad Bunny from PR but you know what I mean).
Also, do the whites listen to Bad Bunny significantly? You could easily be the #1 artist in the United States just off the backs of Latinos, there’s like 60 million of them here. If anything, the white and black English speaking people in the US would hold his numbers back, that’d be my guess anyway.
Kinda feel like Wizkid’s time to be the big international afrobeat artist has passed, he’s basically an OG when you compare him to guys like Fireboy DML making the most noise now. Would love to be surprised, however.

Those aren’t significant populations in reference to black American people overall tho. I think he’s tryna say that the American “urban market,” as outdated as that term is, hasn’t taken to the Afrobeat stuff. The black American demo.
