I saw the thread bout this country singer getting arrested and it says he has the #1 song in America. So I check the hot 100 and come to find out its FILLED with country song. When did this happen? I'm not American so I'm curious
They found out how to plagiarize rap music without giving credit to black people
what rap that’s out right now deserves to flood the top of the charts right now…i don’t even fw country besides Kacey Musgraves but let’s be real lol. FATD September 22nd. Scarlet September 22nd.
but anyway it’s the pendulum swinging back and forth as it always does. it swung towards rap when the streaming era began. it swung back to pop for a little and now it’s towards country. rock will probably have a resurgence and then rap. that’s just how it goes
Country was always popular. Garth Brooks has like 50 Diamond albums.
It just took a while for country fans to get used to streaming their artists.

I mean its not like this zach Bryan song is particularly good either
studios pushing the rural aesthetic to zoomers fed up with their current lives
the Rich Men North of Richmond guy is a plant
One guy said the N Word with the hard R and his sales exploded. One guy made a sundown town anthem, one guy blamed fat people on welfare for his problems, and one covered a song that has been covered 100 times.

Rock fans are some of the biggest gatekeepers in music so I don't see it coming back for that reason.
The level of vile hatred MGK received from snobby Rock fans proves this. Rock fans would rather stick with the same "Dad Rock" artists than embrace newcomers in the scene.
But I do see Country filling in the gap between Rap and Pop just like EDM music did in the early 2010's.

so what deserves to be there? the s***tier, uninspired sequel to SICKO mode? Lil Baby rapping about the same s*** he’s been saying for years over the same beats?

Who's the f*** is talking about what deserves to be there lol? I'm just wondering why country is suddenly topping the charts

Morgan Wallen's previous album had already been #1 for weeks before the incident

the question was answered. the pendulum swings back and forth between genres and people are tired of hearing the same s*** from hip hop
There’s a lot of Spanish music on the Billboard charts too. Consumer taste is changing.
