I feel like shame is a powerful motivator when it comes to health and fitness.

It’s mostly important for kids to know it’s bad to fat shame cus they can’t be discriminating against fat ppl/strangers when they grow up lmao that’s not cool. Friends and family is a different story but depends on how the person takes it kinda f***ed up to shame someone if it’s gonna mess with their mental health.

Eh I think the "shaming" part is unnecessary.

You can encourage someone to make healthier choices without being a d*** about it.

Ppl who push the idea that being fat is healthy are absolute idiots tho.

Oh nah I don’t support calling out random people for being fat

I think you should at least bring it up to family members and friends if you care about their wellbeing though

Nothing wrong with a little belly or fat on your thighs, but being morbidly obese isn’t good for your health and glorification of this is kind of dangerous

    Shaming doesn't work

It definitely does. Aside from my personal experience, there are countless others who started making healthier decisions after being shamed

you really don't know whats behind some scenarios tho. yours might have been fine but there's people who eat a lott when they have mental issues for example. add constant shaming to that and i promise it won't end well

If you think normalizing any type of shaming/body shaming would be a consistent means of getting people to work for the body you think they should have you're gravely mistaken and should do actual research on the effects of shaming

This is a bit surface level but you should read this article relating specifically to fat shaming: healthline.com/nutrition/fat-shaming-makes-things-worse#suicide-risk

There are plently of other studies/articles out there including Harvard Public Health magazine article: hsph.harvard.edu/magazine/magazine_article/the-scarlet-f
