“females” as a noun is primarily used to talk biologically about a s***when discussing species. using it outside that context is generally interpreted as demeaning & dehumanizing for the exact same reasons “bitches” is. it’s really not interchangeable with “ladies” “girls” or “women” in most scenarios outside of anthropological studies. & as someone who isn’t on the receiving end of the term, you have no grounds to say that it isn’t offensive bc the term is not directed at you.

of course, there are some women who don’t care about people using “females” as a noun like that. (note: don’t immediately react to this next sentence, read the bottom) but there are also black dudes who don’t care about their white friends calling them the n word. it’s a similar concept — just because some people don’t have a problem with it doesn’t mean it’s fine to use around people
