LandoTHELOSTBecause “female” doesn’t even specifically reference a human. It’s degrading a woman to her most biological s***organ. Female basically means “has vagina” whereas “woman” is nuanced and encompasses what it means to be a woman.

I wouldn't use it in my mother tongue either for other reasons but always thought it's fairly neutral in English

Lmao I’m not offended, I could carry on and suggest the lack of consistency, as we push for equality between the sexes it is constantly undermined by sexism on both sides, including an ever increasing presence of misandrist women who literally use the word “men” as a derogatory term. But we aren’t on the other side calling “men” offensive. Again I agree with people ITT that this is primarily an internet issue, in the real world I hardly ever hear people refer to women as “females” certainly not within my circle, and I’m aware the worlds bigger than my bubble before people jump on that last part.
