2000 people thought it would be the apocalypse tho they just decided to have fun

More people accepted it in the past. Nowadays were a lot more obsessed with beauty and appearances, so people take balding more seriously and try to change it. Me personally, I’ll accept it if it comes. Although all of the men in my family have had full heads of hair well into their 50s so I’m not sweating it.

There were not a large number of people who truly thought the world was going to magically end when 2000 came around. Every few years those same folklore stories about a certain year marking the end of the world come up, it's an ancient mythos that has persevered mostly because of its novelty and excitement it brings. We weren't locking down the country in fear of a collapse lol

2000 was the last year where people really had hope for the future. After the Cold War ended and the Internet was launched, people thought that the Internet was going to bring us into a more democratic, egalitarian, and kind world. That didn't happen, and by the time of 9/11 and especially when the War on Terror began, I think people realized that a lot had gone wrong in the last few decades and that we here heading into a dark future
