All sin is weighed the same. Besides Suicide which is said to be the biggest sin. You have a chance to repent and ask for forgiveness no matter what the sin you commit. So to answer your question yes if someone does any sin and doesn’t care to repent or learn and ask for forgiveness yes they get the same consequences

The only sin above all is blasphemy of the holy spirit?

Thats why the Bible doesn't make any sense to me sometimes. You cant truly believe that racists who hung people, raped people, etc are on the same level as someone who for example habitually masturbates. Youre telling me that something like same s***relations is an abomination but not rape? This is coming from someone whos belief system alligns with Christianity. This is where I struggle the most. One of my biggest fears is hell, and im by far no saint. But fighting to keep my eternal soul in the right corner trying not to fall victim to various temptations while here meanwhile some dude out here acting significatly more henious than me can be forgiven with ease(too?) it just doesn't make sense to me but i know im not supposed to have all the answers.

I like to see it as a contrast to Us and Ants

Like ants can’t understand why we laugh at certain s***, why we build buildings etc. cuz they can’t process it

God is a higher being so whatever he does prob seems like nonsense to us

    I like this post

That last sentence is so true. His ways and thoughts are not like our ways and we wouldn’t be able to grasp on why God does certain things

Well the thing is everyone has a chance to repent. Every soul will fall short of sin. It may seem crazy but it’s a fair thing once you think about it. Everyone still has a chance to be saved by the Holy Spirit if willing to change and follow

False. Judgement day is when your being shown your whole life on Earth and that’s when the decision is made where your spirit will permanently be at afterwards

So is this judgement right after death or what?
thought we all went to purgatory/limbo

Yes your judgement day is when Jesus returns back. Every person who is dead now their soul is resting and awaiting judgement.. which is when Jesus returns. Judgement day will be after your life on Earth. You will be shown your acts and what you did and it will determine if you go to Heaven or Hell

And purgatory/limbo isn’t supported in the Bible and would contradict the prophecy. Although I’m aware Pagans and Catholics push that narrative

Its permanent for non believers, depending on the religion. Ive only ever known Islam growing up, but yeh, Ive drifted away from it as the years have gone on.

I suppose non believers stay there permanently for rejecting the way of God all together. This is all assuming you actually do believe in hell. If you dont, its not relevant to you.

What do you believe in, heaven or hell? You don't believe in heaven, cause we living in hell

real hip hop real hip hop

The real reason is that Catholics have Purgatory which is time-limited and for people who are pretty much good but need some help. Hell is for people that really f***ed up.

this is the concept that keeps me committed tbh

the idea that someone who had s***out of wedlock goes to the same place as stalin just doesnt work 4 me

Comes down to actions vs consequences. The idea is the actions we take are motivated by temporary gain, while having permanent consequences in the afterlife.

Personally, its why reincarnation always seemed like a much better punishment system imo. You can work your way up and down from your actions, with the end goal of reaching a permanent sense of bliss.

(All this is hypothetical obviously religon is just fun to discuss)

“… for He is coming to judge the earth. He shall judge the world with righteousness, and the peoples with His truth.” Psalm 96:13

I think sending a murderer to prison is on par with sending a murderer to Hell, no?

A prisoner will eventually die and conditions in prison are definitely better than literal hell lol. Eternal pain sounds way worse. Also some pretty light s*** can get you in trouble according to the Bible

Don’t really understand how u can square this alongside the concept of an all loving god

Very difficult if you've actually read the old testament.

He f***ing destroyed cities and s***. Tortured a guy because he made a bet with the devil that the guy would keep his faith despite all the horrible torture bestowed upon him and almost made a guy cut his child open.

So..... yeah. Idk. I was raised Baptist so I'm having some serious points of contention here. Jesus was the more loving and peaceful part of God. But the God from the old testament had a wrath that would make people take a second look at the religion they're following
