The replay value is about the same to me.
And it's technically a more acclaimed album than 808s too.
To each their own though. Obviously, 808s is much more grander in scale and influence.
But if we're strictly talking music on the album and nothing else(influence, non-music antics, etc.) I think they're on par.
I think there’s nothing remarkable about this album I don’t rank it when I rank ye albums
I think there’s nothing remarkable about this album I don’t rank it when I rank ye albums
It's basically Kanye's first psychedelic album and was thematically his most personal/emotional album since 808's but it lacked hits, visuals, and influence so I guess it's not that remarkable in that regard.
also the answer is because fantano gave it a 10 and people still mad about it almost a decade later
one of the few moments he was right
The last time Kanye knew how to rap. It’s like college trilogy Kanye came back for 7 more songs
Surely it can’t be considered a classic if it’s been forgotten about?
we used to call this phenomenon "came and went"

KSG is Platinum eligible while having zero radio/club hits and it sold 135,000 vinyl records in 2021.

But this is KTT2 so obviously vibes and personal opinion matter more than anything else.
"Came and went" means absolutely nothing over here lol.
album was not and is not a f***ing classic. Ye's last classic and good album was YEEZUS. niggas need to learn something
Yeezus was his last great 10/10 album but how KSG deals with lifelong trauma and struggles with mental health is real and amazing and I can see it being a personal classic for a lot of people
In cudi montage I legit can’t tell if cudi singing “Save me lord” or “Send me love”
all the lyric sites say save me lord but I swear I can’t tell
On an album that big either the artists turn in the lyrics or A&Rs will transcribe it and it’s checked by ton of people so it’s 99% accurate at worst
Kanye Wyoming era was so strong lyrically outside of All Mine. Say what you want about writers or whatever but he was putting it all out there after being in the mental hospital
masterpiece collab album. Had it been released in like 2012, it would have went diamond in the culture. Ye was at the peak of the MAGA s*** so everything he did overshadowed the work he put out during this time and folks didn’t bother to listen
Last Kanye album that felt Pre-Kardashian era but wasn't.
Amazing production, conscious lyrical content, dope harmonies, etc.
He had some genius moments on "DONDA" but a lot of that record's mid for the most part.
The last time Kanye knew how to rap. It’s like college trilogy Kanye came back for 7 more songs
WELL, IT TOOK ME LONG ENOUGH TO RAP ON THIS STRONG ENOUGH
HATER S*** JUST GON' GIVE UP, 'CAUSE YE JUST GON' LIVE UP
TO EVERYTHING THAT SUCKS TO YOU AND THAT'S NEVER ENOUGH
THOUGHT I'D BE CLEVER ENOUGH TO GIVE UP WHILE I'M AHEAD
lord shine your light on me, save me please
album came at the right time in my life, personal classic for real

TLOP is def a classic

Era would've been even better without the TMZ stuff
Exactly
People are so triggered in this thread
I get not liking an album, because it’s all subjective, but the extremes people itt go to s*** on it are ridiculous
People just hate Cudi on here, it is what it is.
Ksg fire.
I really wanted a hoodie from that time too
i still got mine but i wish i sized up
b**** shrank
edit: i got the jacket too
Era would've been even better without the TMZ stuff
Yeah saying slavery was a choice and the red hat overshadowed everything

kworb isn't totally accurate, but it seems to be getting the fewest daily spotify streams of all kanye albums by quite a bit
chartmasters.org/spotify-most-streamed-albums
chartmasters backs this up (search kanye here), it's below everything but cruel summer which isn't really a kanye album
