Sep 13, 2022I agree with you. I played it and got a few endings can’t remember how many.
The game feels and looks incredible. The story is certainly interesting but I was not totally gripped the whole way through.
Combat feels good and is crazy flashy with a lot of options but lacks depth. You can easily get through just running shooting and mashing the attack button.
It’s great but the acclaim is a little overblown and I don’t think it’s going to age well (just look how Nier replicant did for reference on that).
Still a great game that everyone should try if even remotely interested.

Its not about armor and most of these people have done their best not to Spoil it for you. It’s honestly your fault for making a thread complaining about a game you barely played. But you are nitpicking at this point.

wesThe main one I've seen is that the main antagonist of the base game (and honestly, most of the antagonists in that game) aren't too compelling. I think this is a really valid complaint, but it never bothered me. Royal's antagonist more than makes up for it though.
Also see that people aren't a fan of the cast and how they don't really feel like close friends compared to something like Persona 4.
Another big one I've seen is the length of the game, but you're playing a JRPG, so you can't really expect it to be too short lol. Think it's a matter of preference though. I put 100+ hours into both playthroughs of P5 and P5R and didn't want those games to end.
Replaying golden and man the characters r just so much better
And yeah Royal antagonist is pretty sick

I think Strikers did a pretty decent job at fleshing out the main party a bit more + made them feel more like better friends, but that of course is a completely separate game, so if you're looking at just P5, then I think that complaint still stands.
I personally thought they're more than fine (esp after Strikers), but I definitely see where people are coming from with that.
