My peers are a talented group
But even if you take all their statistics and carry the two
Even if you rounded up the numbers and rounded the troops
There's still nothin' they could really do
It's too bad reality checks don't cover the balances due

unabel could never
I'd show you what a REAL flop looks like but I don't wanna get banned
40 views isn’t hard and lol streams mean nothing they’re so arbitrary. I’ll never forget the YG album getting a billion streams and going gold 😹
my guy ape ur better than this
because you dont understand how streams work
how is the music industry making thousands of streams count as one sale the artists fault

I do tho. Are you on the XO payroll?
Getting 200k people to buy your album during a global pandemic is not an L in any way possible.
If you’re referring to pure sales numbers, literally almost every artist’s pure sales have tanked since the takeover of streaming. Example: Views did ~850k pure first week, ~1m total then 2 years later, Scorpion did ~160k pure first week, ~750k total but first album to do a billion streams first week (actually unsure it’s been done again since). My point in saying all that is the music industry is fundamentally different than it was a decade ago and the internet is why. Sales numbers of the biggest artists nowadays are in no way comparable to artists that were popping before the internet. Had both Billboard been counting streams for charts some years earlier and the streaming base been as big as it is now, the first half of the decade would’ve involved a million number one Hot 100 tracks from Drake long before he ever got to One Dance. And hip-hop/R&B artists as a whole would’ve dominated even more 2010 forward and kicked the watered down pale girl pop music that dominated the radio at that point off it’s pedestal way quicker.

im getting paid just as much as you are to try and s*** on hundreds of millions of streams like that isn't a successful album in 2020
why people even still count sales when physical albums/iTunes sales aren't even a thing anymore is beyond me
its a reason you didn't title this "new MJ doing over 300 million streams and flopping"
lol

But that’s my whole point. It’s not that successful in 2020 when lizzo, lil nas, dababy and post Malone are all gonna do these numbers when they drop
It’s not like when drake drops and he does 5x as much as everyone else. I don’t even care about numbers I just want s*** on Weeknd fans and his s***ty album but ktt is at the point where u can’t say anything about popular artists

you just listed the top artists rn, 3 of which had the biggest songs of the year literally and dude doesnt really have any hit singles to drive the album
so 300 million people just listening off the strength of being that invested in you is not really anything to look down on
where is his single thats supposed to compete with Suge, The Box, Good as Hell or OLD TOWN ROAD?! LMAO four of the biggest records to drop last year and arguably of decade
its ok to s*** on his fans and album and i havent even really heard the s*** to be ready to defend it but also be ready for actual numerical a***ysis of what youre saying, nobody saying you cant make the thread but you also cant say we cant make u look stupid for calling that a flop lol
