Her label pushing a sound on her that wasn’t her as well as marketing her s***appeal over the music for the longest. It’s unfortunate because she’s genuinely dope
I had a crush on her when she was Robyn on Out Of Jimmy’s head, she always got my support

This was an interlude on Mustards album but Tinashe should’ve had this on her album. It would’ve been the perfect follow up to 2 On and it was during the summer time as well. However, Tinashe believed in herself so much as an artist she didn’t want to be labeled as Mustards girl.
She had two chances early in her career, the second single to follow up 2 On like you said and the Drake feature with On A Wave. Artist may get one, maybe two shots to blow up. RCA was the main problem but Tinashe got in her own way at times. From a day 1 fan perspective I respected her even more, but the casual listener may think those were dumb choices and bad for her career.
Didn't know about this song. Tbh it sounds so different than Mustards usual she should've ran with it.

I still play it regularly

Yeah this sounds like something that'd be on Ella Mai's or Justine Skye's album

This was also before Ella Mai came out, Tee really could’ve been that if she wanted to I believe.
I say let her continue to drop solid projects over the next few yeara and they’ll run to her like people did Solange.
She basically failed to lockdown an audience. I think at the time Aquarius dropped she was being branded as a popstar and rnb it girl.
lack of the "it factor"... same reason why Normani will never be a superstar. Just not an interesting artist
