E40 has always been overrated.
Swear its only KTT that says this lame ass s***
Firstly, they not off beat
Secondly, we BEEN had rappers like this for decades. Shoutout to Special Ed, Masta Ace (“the off beat, on beat”), E-40 and Saffir.
Edit: Lotta people itt bout to expose they lack of love for hip hop. Like the 3 posts below me.

Imagine hearing about E40 and being like "Yo can everybody STFU about E40 already?"
Yo that nigga had some lowkey godlevel wordplay
you niggas rap like a lollipop cause you suck
Its ok if mbdtf or gkmc was your introduction to this genre but at least admit you basic lol
I feel like being a sincere “good”rapper, like someone just spitting hard, is perceived as cringe now by people who associate it with “real hip-hop” and “lyrical miracle spiritual” s***. So to subvert that you have to do either this like lazy d***ged up flow where you sound like you’re half asleep or off beat in this borderline experimental way to get approval. Rapping good is now like the equivalent of an overly indulgent corny guitar solo in an 80’s hair band.
