Why every thread so damn hostile Jesus

A lot of ktt been building up hate for Drake and were expecting Kendrick to take him down a peg like before but now that he didn't do as good there's a lot of cope going around and some of us Kendrick stans are going through a identity crisis over this. Papi's angels feel victimized over it so now they're taking it out on everyone but I don't blame them. Honestly who gives a f***. Drake's the goat, Kendrick's top 2 and he's 2. We should appreciate both while they're here instead of all this hostility

I was talking about the kendrick steps

Yeah I read it, and it's not the worst way to digest the album in a meaningful way compared to way 2/3 of this website listens to s*** and call it s*** or a classic

Justin bieber version is clearly just for clicks and views.

    Liking all three is possible?
Wtf! KTT told me you have to pick one, d*** ride them, and hate on one or two of them!!!

  • We can't because it was mid so sales was all we had now

  • ManU Minute

Yeah digital duplications are no longer counted

    I know.
The thing is you said BTS and Drake fans can no longer manipulate numbers

Drake fans were never mass buying lol

What's a rollout then? I keep seeing this discussion, and I realized that anything that gets people talking is a rollout.

Beyonce changed that scope heavily with her surprise drop. You don't need to spend millions on a long drawn out marketing campaign.

All I'm saying is announcing an album and then going months without dropping said album doesn't count as a rollout. All the announcement did was create hype, anticipation and notify people that you had new music coming.

In most cases, a surprise drops works even better because everyone will rush to listen to it, forcing other people to do the same. Imagine someone like Jay Z surprise drops an album today. That's all the internet will talk about for the next few hours and you will go on Twitter, see all the talk about Jay Z's new album and rush to go and listen to it so you can also be part of the discussion. That's the genius of a surprise release for an established artist.

In that regard, some bill boards announcing features isn't exactly some massive marketing plan because someone like Drake doesn't need that and you know it.

Drake easily doing these numbers. Same with swift/adele

Only reason kendrick, abel did those were bundles

    /thread

Surprised you didn't mention Bundle Scott.

30k of Drake’s and Kanye’s numbers are from my streaming farms, glad I’m doing my part!

So that's a roll out? You announce the album and let the hype create itself?

It's just only megastars can choose that route. The billboards and commercials came beforehand as well

What goal posts am I missing?

Brah do you not comprehend Drakes numbers have nothing to do with duplicate sales, how f***ing dumb are you??????

Every artist is affected by dupes.

Yeah, but it doesn't affect streaming. The only changes Billboard has made to streaming has helped artists in the US who can pull a lot of streams. For an artist like Drake, the 2 changes (making paid tier streams 3,750/sale vs free tier 1,250 streams/sale) and adding YouTube streams to the Billboard will only help his streaming numbers lol.

Everything happened in the span of a week. Drake didn't confirm CLB was dropping until days after the ESPN hack thing. Even when he posted the album cover, fans still didn't believe it was real or that the album was dropping. When it became real for a lot of fans was when he posted a tracklist and then we saw the bill boards.

So Kendrick would do even less than he did now if it weren't for duplicate sales

Artists does 562K with streams only

The new rule not counting duplicates will keep them under 450K (which doens't affect streams one bit)

I can't even fathom being this idiotic
